Linguistic Linked Open Data (LLOD) is a movement about publishing open
language resources for different use cases in academic research, applied
linguistics or natural language processing. The LLOD cloud comprises
lexical-conceptual resources (dictionaries, knowledge bases), corpora,
terminology repositories (thesauri, ontologies), and metadata
collections (language resource metadata, bibliographies).
The Linguistik portal offers a novel search function that facilitates
the accessibility of LLOD resources. The LOD-based search is integrated
in the Catalogue module.
The thesaurus of the Bibliography of Linguistic Literature
(BLL) plays a significant role for the data integration. The subject
headings used for indexing and classification within the Linguistik portal
are based mainly on the BLL Thesaurus. Therefore, the
connection between the Linguistik portal and the LLOD cloud was
implemented by creating an LOD edition of the BLL Thesaurus and
linking it to further terminological repositories. When searching with BLL subject headings,
one can hence find LLOD resources in which the respective linguistic concepts are
used as part of the annotation scheme.
More information about the LOD edition of the thesaurus as well as dataset downloads can be found at http://data.linguistik.de/bll/.
