Abstract:
La production lexicographique française fait une place non négligeable, à côté des dictionnaires de langue et encyclopédiques généraux, à des usuels spécialement dédiés aux difficultés de langue : les dictionnaires de difficultés. La question se pose de savoir si ces ouvrages se singularisent par une spécificité réelle de leur programme malgré les justifications apportées dans leurs préfaces. Comment abordent-ils les difficultés orthographiques ? Les gèrent-ils de manière cohérente ? De l’un à l’autre, le traitement apporté est-il homogène ? Sinon, pourquoi ? Dans une première partie, nous nous interrogeons sur la notion même de difficulté de langue, et spécifiquement dans le domaine orthographique : la difficulté est inhérente à l’identité de code de toute langue. Une seconde partie est consacrée à la relation entre difficulté de langue et dictionnaire de difficultés, et notamment à la construction de la difficulté (orthographique) de langue comme prérequis méthodologique par ces ouvrages. In the first part of the article, there is an analysis of what indeed goes to make up a language difficulty, in particular as far as spelling goes. The idea of difficulty is inherent in the formalisation of the code in any language.
