«Attende, o Homo» : uma leitura antropológica dos escritos de São Francisco de Assis

Abstract:
Com esta dissertação pretendemos retirar dos escritos de São Francisco de Assis uma noção de «antropologia» que, necessariamente, será no âmbito do religioso e não no âmbito filosófico, dado a forte orientação teocêntrica. No primeiro capítulo será nossa intenção apresentar o status quaestionis dos Escritos de São Francisco. Apresentaremos um elenco dos escritos autênticos, os seus géneros literários e identificaremos os seus destinatários. Trata-se, pois, de um capítulo de contacto com as fontes, servindo-nos da edição crítica, bilingue latim-italiano de Carlo Paolazzi, Francesco d’Assisi. Scritti. Grottaferrata (Roma): Frati Editori di Quaracchi Fondazione Collegio S. Bonaventura, 2009. Depois de tratarmos os escritos em geral, sob o ponto de vista da coerência interna e da crítica externa, passaremos num segundo capítulo à identificação dos termos Homo, humanus, humanitas e vir, tratado-os semanticamente em cada um dos escritos onde eles ocorrem. Feito este levantamento dos textos, iremos trabalhá-los de forma sistemática num terceiro capítulo. Como vê Francisco o Homem, como se relaciona o Homem com Deus. O Homem foi criado por Deus Pai, Filho e Espírito Santo; por isso Ele é nosso Criador, Redentor e Salvador. O Homem foi criado à imagem do Seu Filho e à Sua semelhança, e colocado no paraíso de onde decaíu por sua culpa. O Pai enviou o Filho ao mundo, que, por amor encarnou no seio da Virgem Maria, assumindo a carne da nossa humana fragilidade. Assim o Homem vive de forma relacional com Deus-Trindade, a quem tudo restitui, num processo de pobreza e liberdade, para só possuir Aquele que todo se lhe dá: Deus, Pai, Filho e Espirito Santo. A antropologia de Francisco de Assis é teocêntrica e relacional, estão unidos Deus e o Homem, particulamente o Homem frágil, que Francisco serve na pessoa do leproso. A antropologia de Francisco é cósmica e abrangente. Francisco vê nas criaturas a significação do Criador, de quem elas nos dão imagem. E numa relação fraterna, experimentando a pobreza na fraternidade, não só entre os Irmãos, mas também com as criaturas todas suas irmãs, numa oração dialogante e num louvor orante, Francisco restutiu tudo a Deus- Trindade, restitui tudo Àquele que tudo criou do nada. ; With this dissertation we aim to drive a notion of 'anthropology' from the writings of St Francis of Assisi which due to their strong theocentric orientation will necessarily be within the religious field and not the philosophical one. In the first chapter we it is our intention to present the status quaestionis of the Writings of St. Francis. We will present an array of authentic writings, their literary genres and will identify their recipients. This is a chapter of contact with the sources using the critical, Latin-Italian bilingual edition of Carlo Paoazzi, Francesco d’Assisi. Scritti. After a general analysis of the writings in general from the point of view of their internal coherence, external critique, we will proceed, in the second chapter, to identify the terms Homo humanus, humanitas and vir, treating then semantically in each of the writings where they occur. Once the texts have been collected we will analyse them systematically in a third chapter. The way Francis sees Man and how Man relates to God. Man was created by God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, so He is our Creator, Redeemer and Savior. Man was created in the image and likeness of God, placed in paradise, from where he fell through his own fault. The Son was sent by the Father into the world, and out of love for us He was born of the Virgin Mary, assuming in the flesh our human frailty. Thus man lives in a combined relationship with the Trinity, to whom he restores all, in a process of poverty and freedom, only to possess the One who gives himself: God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Francis of Assisi’s anthropology is theocentric and relational, God and Man, united particularly Man in his frail condition who Francis served in the person of the leper. Francis’s anthropology is cosmic and comprehensive; he sees in all creatures the significance of the Creator, whose image they mirror. And, in a fraternal relationship; experiencing poverty in brotherhood, not only among Brothers but also with all brother creatures, in a dialoguing prayerful praise, Francis gives everything back to the Trinity to the One who created all things from nothing.
