Abstract:
Basil Bapo and Luke Gitakulu talk about custums relating to puberty, sitting at the open meeting house in Nyimââ village. ; The project documents oral texts on traditions and daily life in the Reef Islands, covering 8 villages and 73 speakers ranging in age from 15 to 93. The materials were recorded in September-October 2015. ; Basil Bapo talks about customs relating to puberty and the transition to manhood for young boys. Has previously worked for the Äiwoo Bible translation team. Worked as Field Assistant for the data collection in Otelo, Nyimââ, Laato and Nyiväle villages and participated in recruiting participants and explaining the project to local leaders, making practical arrangements, as well as participating as interviewer in recordings. ; Aka Tumwä Namole. From Nyimââ, married to a woman from Nyimââ (Ethel Mary Nupugo).
