From the radio to the classroom: a rhetorical-conversational analysis of the genre “spot”
In: Filologia e Linguística Portuguesa, Vol 17, Iss 1, Pp 205-225 (2015) (2015)
Abstract: In this paper, the authors present a theoretical and methodological dialogue between conversational, argumentative and interactive studies. Moreover, they seek to demonstrate a possible application of this dialogue in the reality of the Portuguese Language classroom. This is done through the analysis of the oral features present in the genre “spot”, which takes the radio as a support. The work follows a procedural line with the following questions: How to operationalize oral language actions in the classroom through the rhetorical and conversational studies? Is it possible to create compelling conditions to introduce the teaching of oral aspects in the classroom practice? The study of the highlighted genre, in a rhetorical-conversational approach, responded positively to these questions by showing the possibility of inclusion of oral practice in the classroom.
