Cultura e diversidade parental: projeto de intervenção junto de famílias multidesafiadas de contextos interculturais
Abstract: Códigos PsycINFO: 2930 Culture & Ethnology 3373 Community & Social Services ; Nas últimas décadas, Portugal tem recebido imigrantes provenientes de diversos países, com diferentes etnias e culturas. No âmbito da parentalidade, verifica-se que as minorias étnicas enfrentam diversos desafios: isolamento, barreiras linguísticas, proteção dos filhos de eventuais situações discriminatórias e stress na relação pai-filho. Outras problemáticas estão presentes como a divergência entre as diversas culturas sobre o que é correto ou indicado, assumindo-se que as práticas da cultura dominante são normativas face às restantes culturas, e o facto de algumas famílias de minorias étnicas apresentarem características de famílias multidesafiadas. A literatura existente sustenta que diversos programas têm sido desenhados para a comunidade escolar no âmbito da multiculturalidade, sendo poucos os programas destinados às famílias de minorias étnicas. Com o objetivo de diagnosticar as necessidades das famílias, procedeu-se à realização de dois grupos focais com 12 mães que residiam ou trabalhavam numa freguesia do concelho de Oeiras, tinham filhos entre os quatro e os 16 anos inscritos num Projeto de Intervenção Comunitária local, eram provenientes de nacionalidade ou etnias não portuguesa/lusa e apresentavam características de famílias multidesafiadas. Realizou-se uma análise de conteúdo temática às transcrições das entrevistas, que deu origem a 11 categorias divididas entre recursos e dificuldades das famílias. Com os resultados obtidos desenhou-se um programa de intervenção, constituído por dois projetos, que visam a aquisição de competências pessoais, sociais e parentais que auxiliem as famílias de minorias étnicas no exercício da parentalidade; e a capacitação da comunidade escolar para uma intervenção sensível com alunos e famílias provenientes de minorias étnicas. ; In the last decades, migrants from different countries, culture and ethnics have arrived in Portugal. In the parental scope can be verified that minorities face many challenges such as segregation, linguistic barriers, protection of the sons against discrimination and father-son stress situations. Other issues are presented with the distance between some cultures definition of right and wrong, in the sense that the dominant culture is always the most influent, and the fact that some ethnic minority families shows signs of being challenged in many ways. Existing literature states that a diverse array of programs have ben elaborated for the scholar community in the multicultural area, being the programs for ethnic minority families few in number. With the objective of diagnosing the family needs, two focus group of 12 mothers with the following characteristics were assembled: Lived or worked in Oeiras, with offspring’s with ages between four and 16 years of age enrolled in a Social Intervention Project, with Portuguese/Luso background who presented characteristics of a multi-challenged family. An analysis on the transcribed interviews was made, from which 11 categories divided between the resources and difficulties of the families emerged. With the results obtained an intervention program was drafted, made by two projects, which aim the acquisition of personal social and parental skills, that helps ethnic minority families in parenting and enable the scholar community to a more sensitive intervention next to the students and families from ethnic minority origins.
