Abstract:
Verlässliche, aktuelle, umfassende und wissenschaftlich abgesicherte Informationen zur Kultur und Geschichte der Deutschen im östlichen Europa findet man im neuen Online-Lexikon, das vom Institut für Germanistik der Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg und dem Bundesinstitut für Kultur und Geschichte der Deutschen im östlichen Europa erstellt wird. Das multidisziplinäre Lexikon beschäftigt sich mit historischen Regionen wie Schlesien, Pommern, West- und Ostpreußen und den Böhmischen Ländern sowie mit den deutschen Siedlungsgebieten im Baltikum, in Südosteuropa, Russland und anderen GUS-Nachfolgestaaten. Auf dem aktuellen Forschungsstand basierend, behandeln die Beiträge den Zeitraum vom mittelalterlichen Landesausbau im östlichen Europa, über den Zweiten Weltkrieg und die Umsiedlung, Flucht und Vertreibung eines großen Teils der deutschen Bevölkerung bis zu Brüchen und Transformationsprozessen in der Gegenwart. Das Lexikon wird von der Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien gefördert. --- The new online encyclopedia of the culture and history of the Germans in Eastern Europe delivers reliable and comprehensive, scientifically verified information of the culture and history of the Germans in Eastern Europe. It is a project of the Institute of German studies of the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg and the Federal Institute for Culture and History of the Germans in Eastern Europe. The multidisciplinary encyclopedia focusses on historical regions such as Silesia, Pomerania, Western and Eastern Prussia and Bohemia and the territories on which Germans settled in the Baltic States, in South-Eastern Europe, in Russia or in other former Soviet Republics. Based on latest scientific information the articles refer to a timeframe from the medieval settlement in Eastern Europe to World War II and the resettlement, flight and expulsion of a greater part of the German population, and up to discontinuities and transformation processes of today. The encyclopedia is financed by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media (BKM).
