Abstract:
In insgesamt zehn Abteilungen greift der Band dazu einerseits die thematischen Schwerpunkte auf, die über die Jahre hinweg das Werk von Adam Jones geprägt haben, und entwickelt sie in konkreten Fallanalysen weiter, andererseits werden die übergreifenden methodischen und theoretischen Herausforderungen diskutiert, die sich bei der Beschäftigung mit afrikanischer Geschichte und Kultur ergeben. Grob folgt dabei die Sortierung der Beiträge einer chronologischen Ordnung, die – zufällig oder nicht – mit den unterschiedlichen Schwerpunktsetzungen in Jones’ Werk konform geht.
