Abstract:
International audience ; This article deals with issues related to the composition of the lexical content of textbooks used for teaching Arabic as a second language L2 at the Higher Language Institute of Damascus (Syria). The analysis indicates that the content predominantly represents a more ‘traditional’ approach to teaching lexicon; that is the focus is principally on the semantics of words and phrases while the communicative features of these language elements are dealt with minimally. The analysis in this study shows the weak points in the structure of textbooks now in use in the context of this particular study. It is based on the criteria of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) and the skill references of Niveaux pour le français, both offering an approach that is better adapted to the teaching of lexicon and used in more recent textbooks for teaching modern languages. This analysis can be a model example for other institutions to revaluate their textbooks that still uphold the traditional practice of language teaching. ; Este artículo aborda cuestiones relacionadas a la constitución del contenido léxico de los manuales escolares utilizados para la enseñanza del árabe como segunda lengua (L2) en el Instituto Superior de Lenguas de Damasco (Siria). Nuestro análisis indica que el enfoque más ‘tradicional’ es predominante en la representación del léxico; es decir los libros de texto centran en la semántica de las palabras y frases, mientras que las características comunicativas de estos elementos del lenguaje son mínimamente tratados. El estudio muestra los puntos mejorables de los actual manuales utilizados actualmente dentro del contexto de este estudio. Se basa en los criterios del Marco Común Europeo de Referencia para las Lenguas (MCERL) y las referencias de Niveaux pour le français, las dos ofrecen un enfoque más adaptado a la enseñanza del léxico de manera comunicativa y que se suele utilizar en los textos recientes. Este análisis puede servir de modelo a otras instituciones para revalorizar los textos que aún conservan un enfoque más ‘tradiciónal’ de la didáctica de las lenguas. ; Cet article a pour objet la problématique de la constitution du contenu lexical des manuels d’enseignement de l’arabe L2 de l’Institut supérieur des langues de l’Université de Damas (Syrie). Le contenu actuel représente l'approche classique du lexique, qui se focalise sur le sens des mots et des expressions alors que les fonctionnalités communicatives de ces éléments langagiers sont peu traitées. L’analyse proposée montre les points de faiblesse dans la présente constitution des manuels utilisés. Elle s’appuie sur les critères du Cadre européen commun de référence pour les langues (CECRL) et des référentiels des Niveaux pour le français, qui proposent une approche plus adaptée pour la préparation du lexique dans les manuels récents d’enseignement des langues vivantes. Cette analyse peut servir de modèle pour revaloriser les manuels d’autres institutions qui conservent encore l’ancienne tradition de la didactique des langues.
