	Abstract: International audience ; This article deals with difficulties met by Estonian-speaking learners in writing texts in French. This study focuses in particular on differences in Estonian and French sentence structure and word order errors in students’ written productions. The analysis is based on data coming from a corpus of BA theses corrected by a native speaker of French. The data analysis reveals three types of word order errors concerning a) the internal structure of a noun phrase; b) the position of adverbs and adverb phrases and c) the order of the main constituents of a sentence. The last category is the most complex one, involving phenomena of focalization and topicalization expressed by different means in French and in Estonian. The results indicate that erroneous constructions found in students’ texts mostly copy the Estonian sentence structure and may thus be considered as transfer errors. The article also suggests that word order phenomena get little attention in available teaching material and thus necessitate supplementary activities in French language classes, involving possibly contrastive analysis. ; Dans cet article, nous étudions les difficultés auxquelles les apprenants estophones font face en écrivant des textes en français. Cette étude se concentre sur les erreurs concernant l’ordre des constituants de la phrase. Il s’agit d’une étude qualitative qui se base un corpus de mémoires de licence corrigés par un francophone natif. Nous avons relevé trois catégories d’erreurs concernant : a)la structure interne du syntagme nominal ; b) la place des compléments adverbiaux et c) l’ordre des constituants essentiels de la phrase. La dernière catégorie est hétérogène et révèle les difficultés des apprenants estophones à manier les différentes constructions françaises de focalisation et de thématisation. Les phrases erronées reproduisent la structure de la phrase estonienne et peuvent donc être considérées comme des erreurs d’interférence. Finalement, quelques pistes didactiques sont proposées pour aider les étudiants à mieux comprendre la structuration de la phrase française en tenant compte de la langue maternelle des étudiants.
