Cette langue se trouve dans le sud-ouest algérien et plus précisément dans les wilayas de Naama et d’El Bayedh. Nous avons pris comme terrain d’étude cette région pour mener une étude acoustique sur les rhotiques alvéolaires. D'abord signalons que de manière générale, le système phonétique et phonologique de cette langue berbère n'est pas très différent de celui des autres langues lui étant apparentées. Ainsi, les processus phonético-phonologiques et l'inventaire des phonèmes existant en TmAS sont retrouvés en partie ou totalement dans d'autres systèmes linguistiques berbères. Mais cette variante du Sud-Oranais présente tout de même un certain de nombre de particularités phonétiques en comparaison, d'abord, sur un strict plan interne à la famille berbère et ensuite, plus largement, d'un point de vue pan-linguistique. L'une de ces singularités, et qui sera notre objet d’étude, concerne les rhotiques alvéolaires et le TmAS en connait trois types : [ɾ], [r] et [ɾˤ]. La première de ces rhotiques est retrouvée dans toutes les langues berbères, mais ce n'est pas le cas de la vibrante alvéolaire roulée [r] qui semble, dans les langues berbères qui ont fait l'objet d'une description, peu avoir été inventoriée. L'autre aspect original de ces rhotiques est sur un plan pan-linguistique. La rhotique battue pharyngalisée [ɾˤ] n'est pas un son répandu dans les langues du monde. Dans la littérature, la mention de ce phonème n'est pas abondamment signalée, seules, quasiment, les langues berbères et certaines langues sémitiques semblent avoir dans leur système phonologique ce son. Nous allons donc nous attacher au cours de cette communication à présenter certains aspects de ces phonèmes en mettant d’abord l’accent sur les propriétés phonologiques (distribution, structure syllabique, environnement phonologique et allophones), puis sur leurs propriétés phonétiques (coarticulation / perturbations phonétiques, durée d’occlusion, durée des vocoïdes). Ces dernières ont été mises en évidence grâce aux caractéristiques acoustiques de nos phonèmes qui ont été obtenus avec un enregistrement audio (microphone à électret & dictaphone numérique) sur un corpus de 220 items auprès de deux locuteurs natifs. Ces données de première main seront illustrées grâce à des spectrogrammes et des graphiques qui permettront de rendre compte de nos résultats.
