Les parcs à thème au prisme de la communication

Abstract:
International audience ; On the basis of the semiotic-pragmatic approach and the hypertext model of communication, this article explores the world of theme parks in terms of situations in which there is a discrepancy between three moments: the promised experience, the visible experience and the experience that is later written about. The initial supposition is that the idea of taking a trip should be considered first and foremost as a discursive construction in which ideas and ideals come face to face; like theme parks and in keeping with trends, this construction is the source of moralizing, black-and-white directives. Through an examination of comments left on TripAdvisor and observations of three French theme parks, the argument seeks to grasp the elements that can lead to an understanding of the quest to be somewhere else and to submerge ourselves in closed universes, where narrative seeks to dominate space. ; À partir de la sémio-pragmatique et du modèle communicationnel de l’hypertexte, l’article se propose d’explorer le monde des parcs à thème à travers des situations de décalage entre expérience promise, expérience visible et expérience retranscrite. Le postulat de départ est de considérer l’idée de voyage avant tout comme une construction discursive où se confrontent idées et idéaux car, comme les parcs à thème et au gré des modes, elle est source de prescriptions moralisantes et manichéennes. L’argumentation cherche ainsi à saisir, dans des échanges recueillis sur Tripadvisor et lors d’observations dans trois parcs à thème français, des éléments ouvrant la compréhension de cette quête d’ailleurs et d’immersion dans des univers clos où le récit se confronte à l’épreuve de l’espace pour le dominer.
