; [EN]The discovery of inscriptions on turtle shells and bones at the end of the 19th century has allowed us to get closer to the oldest form of writing and, at the same time, to the language that supports it. The Sinic languages are the most spoken languages in the world and their writing is of a highly developed logographic type. This writing, which values semantics more than phonetics, has made it easier for us to understand ancient texts, even archaic ones, but it has also made phonetic investigations difficult for us. Taking as starting point the phonetic loan characters (假借字 jiǎjièzì) we try to discover certain phonetic and morphological phenomena and, at the same time, reconstruct the possible form of the old system of personal pronouns in Chinese.
