Aus diesem Grund befasst sich diese Masterarbeit mit der Variation dialektaler phonologischer und morphologischer Merkma-le in österreichischen Popsongs. Ziel ist es, auf der Basis linguistischer Variablen, herauszufin-den, inwiefern österreichische Interpretierende auf Grund der Sprache in ihren Songs be-stimmten Dialektgebieten zugeordnet werden können. Die Analyseergebnisse legen nahe, dass die Interpretierenden gewiss bestimmten groben Dialektgebieten zugeordnet werden können und dass sich in ihrer Sprache die aktuellen dialektalen Entwicklungen teilweise wiederspie-geln. Es zeigt sich allerdings auch, dass Musik und deren Songtexte anderen Regeln unterlie-gen als gesprochene Sprache, weshalb auch auf diese Besonderheiten eingegangen werden muss. ; If people have been listening to Austrian music in recent years, one could not escape the trend towards dialectal pop music. Hence this Master’s thesis is concerned with the variation of dia-lectal phonological and morphological features in Austrian pop music. The aim is to learn how Austrian musicians can be associated with certain dialectal areas on the base of linguistic vari-ables. The results of the analysis show that the performers’ language variation correlates with certain dialectal areas and the language in the songs partly reflects the recent dialectal devel-opments. Additionally, it seems that music and its lyrics succumb other norms than spoken language, consequently these characteristics must be considered too.
