Abstract: International audience ; Many diachronic phonological changes mirror synchronic phonetic variations, and as J. Ohalaproposed, some historical processes can be “duplicated†in laboratory conditions through acousticand perceptual experiments. We compare two lenition phenomena in Romanian and Spanishthrough corpus-based analyses, both of which are linked to phonological changes from Latin tomodern Romance languages.
