Abstract:
У статті розглянуто семантичні особливості використання атрибутивних конструкцій та їх види. З’ясовано, що субстантивні атрибутивні словосполучення є найбільш поширеним видом та привертають до себе увагу насамперед тим, що у випадку атрибутизації за допомогою іменника в ролі означення однієї субстанції виступає інша. Розроблено алгоритм дій при перекладі англомовних атрибутивних конструкцій з субстантивним атрибутом українською мовою. ; В статье рассмотрены семантические особенности использования атрибутивных конструкций и их виды. Выяснено, что субстантивные атрибутивные словосочетания являются наиболее распространенным видом и привлекают к себе внимание прежде всего тем, что в случае атрибутизации с помощью существительного в роли определения одной субстанции выступает другая. Разработан алгоритм действий при переводе англоязычных атрибутивных конструкций с субстантивным атрибутом на украинский язык. ; The aim of the article is to establish the semantics of noun attributes in the preposition in English. The object of the study are noun attributes in English. The subject of the research is the disclosure of the semantics of noun attributes in the preposition in English. Methods. During the study, the following methods were used: inductive; comparative analysis; synthesis. Among the linguistic methods - descriptive and its methods of internal and external interpretation. As auxiliary research procedures involved the method of systematization and elements of quantitative calculations which contributed to the establishment of quantitative indicators and summarized the actual representativeness of noun attributes in the preposition in English. Results of the research. The semantic features of the use of attributive constructions and their types are considered. It has been found that substantive attributive phrases are the most common type and attract attention primarily because in the case of attribution with a noun in the role of the definition of one substance is another. An algorithm for actions in the translation of English-language attributive constructions with a noun attribute into Ukrainian has been developed. Сonclusions and prospects. Thus, the noun attribute in modern English is a communicatively important and structurally necessary component of a sentence, with a wide and diverse semantic range. In English, nouns in the general case are regularly used in the prepositional definition of another noun. The semantics of noun phrases are usually derived from the semantics of their constituent components, but the close connection of nouns in the composition of premodification phrases leads to a certain semantic unity, which requires further study and generalization. We consider the study of noun attributes taking into account the modern provisions of linguistics as a promising direction, which will allow to characterize their role in the processes of conceptualization and categorization of the world, in cognitive processes, in generalized experience.
