Society’s lack of respect for and understanding of those differences perpetuates negativity, general dissatisfaction, and eventually hate speech. Social media companies are using automated hate speech detection systems to limit the appearance of such abusive content. These systems, however, rely heavily on the volume and quality of data. Despite the fact that a large amount of public datasets for hate speech detection is available, they are limited to popular languages such as English, French, and Spanish, among others. In our approach, we aim at accurately identifying hateful content on unpopular languages with the help of pre-trained transformer models. Both monolingual and multilingual models are deployed, for this task. We mostly seek to learn whether training multilingual models in linguistically related languages can provide enhanced results ... : Η συνεχής επέκταση και δημιουργία διαδικτυακών πλατφορμών κοινωνικής δικτύωσης, προσελκύει άτομα διαφορετικών εθνικοτήτων, θρησκειών, σεξουαλικού προσανατολισμού και κοινωνικής θέσης. Η έλλειψη σεβασμού και κατανόησης αυτών των διαφορών από την κοινωνία, ενισχύουν την αρνητικότητα, τη γενική δυσαρέσκεια και τελικά τη ρητορική μίσους. Οι εταιρείες μέσων κοινωνικής δικτύωσης χρησιμοποιούν αυτοματοποιημένα συστήματα ανίχνευσης ρητορικής μίσους για τον περιορισμό της εμφάνισης τέτοιου υβριστικού περιεχομένου. Τα συστήματα αυτά, ωστόσο, βασίζονται σε μεγάλο βαθμό στον όγκο και την ποιότητα των δεδομένων με τα οποία εκπαιδεύονται. Παρά το γεγονός ότι διατίθεται μεγάλος αριθμός δημόσιων συνόλων δεδομένων για ανίχνευση ρητορικής μίσους, τα σύνολα αυτά περιορίζονται σε δημοφιλείς γλώσσες όπως αγγλικά, γαλλικά και ισπανικά, μεταξύ άλλων. Στην προσέγγισή μας, στοχεύουμε στον ακριβή εντοπισμό περιεχομένου μίσους σε μη διάσημες γλώσσες με τη βοήθεια προεκπαιδευμένων μοντέλων μετασχηματισμού (Transformer Models). Τόσο ...
