In Brazilian Portuguese, phonological development occurs between birth and the age of 6: 0 years, in the absence of disorders that hinder acquisition Generally, studies that address phonological acquisition are predominant in the South and Southeast. Therefore, the objective of this study was to describe the process of phonological acquisition typical of children living in the city of Natal / RN and to compare the results obtained with those of other studies. Methodology: This is a quantitative / qualitative research, with data collection, 8 children, of both sexes, aged between 2 and 5 years, participated, all students of the Childhood Education Center (NEI-Cap / UFRN) . The collection was obtained through spontaneous conversations, recorded, transcribed and analyzed by means of descriptive statistics and by the Contrast and Structures Acquisition Standard model. Results: Plosives were acquired until the expected age, but there were some regressions of use in some subjects, corroborating the non-linear aspect of phonological acquisition. The fricatives / z / / ʒ / / v / are clear at the expected ages, but had a complete stabilization at a later age. Thus, as the acquisition of the net / X / and / ɾ /. Conclusion: The linguistic variant, dependent on the region, can cause a difference in the time of phoneme stabilization, especially of the liquid ones, which is why the importance of research focused on this field of study in the Potiguar region. ; Introdução: A aquisição fonológica ocorre seguindo uma sequência comum a maioria das criança, esse processo se dá de forma não linear e gradual. No Português Brasileiro, o desenvolvimento fonológico ocorre entre o nascimento e a idade dos 6:0 anos, na ausência de transtornos que dificultam a aquisição. Geralmente, estudos que abordam a aquisição fonológica são predominantes nas regiões Sul e Sudeste. Portanto, o objetivo desse estudo foi descrever o processo de aquisição fonológica típica de crianças moradoras da cidade de Natal/RN e comparar os resultados obtidos com os de outros estudos. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma pesquisa quantitativa/qualitativa, com levantamento de dados. Participaram 8 crianças, de ambos os sexos, com idade entre 2 e 5 anos, todos alunos do Núcleo de Educação da Infância (NEI-Cap/UFRN). A coleta foi obtida através de conversas espontâneas gravadas, transcritas e analisadas por meio de estatística descritiva. Resultados: As plosivas estavam adquiridas até a idade esperada, porém ocorreram regressões de uso em alguns sujeitos, corroborando o aspecto não linear da aquisição fonológica. As fricativas /z/ /ʒ/ /v/ se apresentaram nas idades esperadas, porém tiveram a estabilização completa em idade mais tardia. Assim, como a aquisição das líquidas /X/ e /ɾ/. Conclusão: A variante linguística, a depender da região, pode causar uma diferença no tempo da estabilização dos fonemas, em especial das líquidas, por isso a importância de pesquisas voltadas para esse campo de estudo na região potiguar.
