Abstract:
Este artículo ofrece un análisis crítico de los elementos discursivos empleados para presentar las noticias radiofónicas en las que se habla de las mujeres y los menores inmigrantes. La muestra corresponde al programa Hora Sur Andalucía y las noticias fueron recopiladas entre el 1 de abril y el 31 de julio de 2011. El objetivo del estudio es observar si las diferentes elecciones lingüísticas contribuyen o no a la creación de prejuicios étnicos y estereotipos racistas en relación a las mujeres y los menores inmigrantes. Para llevar a cabo el análisis aplicaremos el marco teórico propuesto por van Leeuwen en su libro de 2008 Discourse and Practice. New Tools for Critical Discourse Analysis. El análisis pone de manifiesto que las noticias de radio analizadas no describen la situación de las mujeres y los menores ni profundizan en las razones por las que emigran o en la situación en sus países de origen sino que las noticias analizadas se centran en presentarles como víctimas del naufragio de pateras, o de la violencia de género y la prostitución. ; This paper offers a critical analysis of the discursive elements used to present pieces of news that talk about immigrant women and immigrant minors in a sample of pieces of news from the radio. They appeared in the program Hora Sur Andalucía between April 1 and July 31, 2011. The purpose of the study is to observe if the different linguistic choices contribute to the creation of ethnic prejudices and racist stereotypes. The theoretical framework proposed by van Leeuwen in his book Discourse and Practice. New Tools for Critical Discourse Analysis (2008) was used for the analysis in order to observe the way in which immigrant women and immigrant minors appeared as social actors in the radio discourse. The analysis points out that the pieces or radio news under analysis neither describe the situation of the said women and minors nor deepen in the reasons why they migrate or in the situations of their countries of origin. The pieces of news analysed present them as victims of shipwreck, gender violence or prostitution.
