Abstract:
; Universities need to introduce significant changes and innovations to adapt to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Among the requirements that the forthcoming educational model demands, the present paper is devoted to evaluation as a key element in the teaching-learning process. In this regard, the article offers a proposal of assessment in a one term course of English Philology as an illustrative example of how to evaluate large classes following the model proposed in Bolonia. The adaptation of the evaluation process to the new educational needs entails a thorough revision of the evaluation techniques, among which we will draw attention to the use of the portfolio as a method which provides a perceptive way to assess within the reform of Higher Education.
