Abstract:
La Tesis Doctoral que se presenta explora la multiculturalidad existente en las tierras otomanas entre diferentes comunidades a través de la lengua usada por un autor sefardí. El eje principal de esta tesis es la transcripción del libro de 328 páginas publicado en aljamía hebraica en judeoespañol a principios del siglo XX en Estambul, y teniendo como objetivo hacer un estudio lingüístico prestando especial atención a los turquismos, lo que nos permite analizar con detalle la interrelación entre distintas comunidades de lengua y cultura diferentes. Hay que tener en cuenta que este texto ha sido un gran desconocido, pero de gran riqueza, tanto histórica como lingüísticamente. La Tesis Doctoral se estructura en dos volúmenes. El Primer Volumen está dedicado al estudio y el Segundo Volumen a la transcripción del texto, a los que se les añade un anexo digital detallado con todos los datos recogidos que han sido objeto de análisis y que se pueden tratar interactivamente. Los resultados de este estudio evidencian que la lengua puede ser un vehículo para estudiar la situación social de distintas comunidades. En esta tesis se demuestra cómo una comunidad que forma parte de la sociedad otomana tiene un dominio no solo de su lengua (hebreo y judeoespañol) sino también del turco, y de otras lenguas. Esta Tesis Doctoral ofrece una visión distinta y novedosa — comparando con los estudios ya existentes— del análisis de un texto fijando la lengua como matriz de los estudios e investigación para la Paz, en concreto la línea de Cultura de Paz. Por otro lado propone nuevas perspectivas de futuras investigaciones: partiendo del corpus analizado se pueden hacer estudios tanto comparativos con otros corpus como en este mismo corpus abordar otros análisis, por ejemplo la Cultura de Paz desde la perspectiva histórica. ; The doctoral thesis ‘Pluriculturalism in the Language of Izak Gabay’s Yildiz i sus sekretos: el reyno de Abdul Hamid [The Yildiz Palace and its Secrets: the reign of Abdülhamit]’, explores the extent to which multiculturalism have existed between different communities in the Ottoman lands through the language used by a Sephardic author. The main objective of the study is to transcribe the 328-page Judeo-Spanish book published in Hebrew aljamiado in the early 20th century in Istanbul and carry out a linguistic study of the text —paying special attention to the Turkish loanwords that appear— in an attempt to analyse the interrelationships between different communities in detail. While a largely unknown text, the work offers a wealth of historical and linguistic data. The thesis is divided into two volumes; Volume I contains the study and Volume II the transcription of the text. There is also a detailed digital appendix containing all of the data collected and analysed that can be used interactively. The results of this thesis show that language can serve as a vehicle to examine social situations in certain communities. The study reveals how a community integrated into Ottoman society have mastery not only of their tongue (Hebrew and Judeo-Spanish), but also of the dominant language, Turkish in this case, and other minority languages. Compared to existing studies, the thesis also offers a distinct novel view of analysing texts, establishing language as a matrix for peace research, specifically with regard to the culture of peace. Moreover, it proposes new perspectives for future research, whether using Gabay’s work for comparative purposes with other works or further exploring elements highlighted in the thesis, for example analysing the culture of peace from a historical perspective. ; Tesis Univ.
