Abstract: 日本人EFL学習者のうち中学生が外国語(英語)を学習するときに用いている学習方略とその関連要因として動機づけ,知覚的学習スタイル好性,性格特性を調査するための項目を検討するため,先行研究の結果を参考に,それぞれ27,8,6,14項目,計55項目に関して,1997年3月に中学生59名を対象に調査を実施し,データは因子分析により分析した。その結果,各要因についてそれぞれ4因子,4因子,2因子,3因子を抽出し,それぞれ22,8,6,11項目の計47項目が含まれていた。 ; In the field of the second language acquisition, learning strategies are reported to be closely related with other factors, such as learning style, motivation, personality and so on. Though not much research has been done on the relationship between learning strategies used by Japanese EFL students and these factors, the author has tried to investigate the relationship as well as to develop appropriate questionnaire items for these factors. However, in order to expand the framework of the studies, younger subjects, such as junior highschool students, must be included in the research studies. To achieve the goal, the preparation of appropriate questionnaire items for the target subjects is necessary. The purpose of this study was to prepare or validate questionnaire items suitable for investigating learning strategies, learning styles, particularly, perceptual ones, and motivation of Japanese EFL junior highschool students. Firstly, data on the factors mentioned above were gathered from fifty-nine junior highschool students in March of 1997, using a trial questionnaire consisting of fifty-five items as a total. Then, the data were analyzed by factor analysis, extracting 4 factors for learning strategies, 4 for motivation, 2 for perceptual learning style preference, and 3 for personality. These factors included 22, 8, 6, 11 items, respectively, totaling 47 items, which must and will be further examined with more subjects, since the number of the subjects of this study was not enough.
