Abstract: This item includes a segment of an a student interview in a Writing Intensive course in Social Work at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. The interview was conducted in 2013 and in this clip the interviewee is discussing the need to tailor intervention strategies, typically created on the continental US, for the people of Hawaiʻi. ; Brief excerpt from interview: [The intervention strategies] were created by people on the mainland. And Hawaiʻi/local style is very family oriented. It's not really the individual. You gotta work around with the whole family and make sure everyone is incorporated.
