Innovación léxica y género en textos periodísticos del español actual

Abstract:
En la presente tesis se lleva a cabo un estudio sobre el impacto de la variable género social, por una parte, y de la variable género textual, por otra, en la innovación léxica del español, aspectos aún no abordados desde el punto de vista de los estudios de género y lenguaje ni desde el área de la neología. Las hipótesis generales de partida son que la variable género social tiene un impacto relevante en relación con el carácter más innovador o más conservador de los neologismos utilizados por cada género y también en relación con las necesidades a las que responde el uso de estas unidades neológicas, y que la variable género textual tiene un impacto cuantitativo y cualitativo en la innovación léxica en general, y en los usos de mujeres y hombres, en particular. Para verificar estas hipótesis se analizó el comportamiento neológico de mujeres y hombres en periódicos y blogs a través de distintos análisis: en primer lugar, análisis cuantitativos en relación con la presencia de mujeres y hombres en la prensa, con la cantidad de neologismos de cada género y con el tipo de formación de las unidades neológicas. En segundo lugar, análisis cualitativos en relación con el grado de neologicidad de las unidades, el uso de marcas tipográficas y metadiscursivas y la función de los neologismos. Se realizó también una entrevista a periodistas españoles para conocer su postura con respecto al uso de neologismos. Los resultados subrayan la diferencia en el comportamiento neológico de mujeres y hombres y de periódicos y blogs principalmente en dos aspectos: por una parte, el carácter más neológico de las unidades léxicas de hombres y de aquellas utilizadas en blogs, y, por otra, el mayor uso de neologismos con función social por parte de las mujeres y con función expresiva por parte de los hombres. ; The aim of this thesis was to conduct a study on the impact of social gender and textual genre on Spanish lexical innovation. These aspects have not been explored from the point of view of language and gender studies nor from the perspective of neology. It was hypothesized that the social gender variable has a relevant impact regarding the innovative or conservative nature of the viii neologisms used by each gender and in relation to the need to use these new neological units. Besides, the text variable also plays a qualitative and quantitative role in lexical innovation and in their use by men and women in particular. To explore these theses, men and women´s neological behaviour in newspapers and journalism blogs were analysed. First, the presence of men and women in the press, number of neologisms per gender and the type of neological unit formation were submitted to a quantitative analysis. Then, the degree of neologicity per unit, the typographic and metadiscursive marks, and the function of neologisms were submitted to the qualitative analysis. Also, Spanish journalists were interviewed to collect their point of view about the use of neologisms. The results highlight the difference between men and women, and newspapers and blogs in the use of neologisms in two aspects. On the one hand, a more neological character of the lexical units used by men and in blogs, and the greater use of neologisms with a social function used by women and with expressive function by men.
