Abstract:
Ruspolia fuscopunctata (Karny, 1907) [A] CH 4985 ♂ The specimen agrees in all measurements (length of pronotum, tegmen, hind femur, syllable repetition rate, number of stridulatory teeth) with the data given by Bailey for R. fuscopunctata . The calling song showed a syllable repetition rate of 19 Hz (T= 22.5 ºC) and was produced with a file (“crescentic” type; Bailey 1975) containing 115 teeth. The mixed remainings of another three Ruspolia specimens (CH 4971 – 3) from [C] could not be identified with certainty. Two of them belonged to specimens with files of the “crescentic” type (number of teeth ca. 80, 86) and may also be H. fuscopunctata , but could also be H. ruthae or H. ampla (see Bailey, 1975). ... : Published as part of Heller, Klaus-Gerhard, Hemp, Claudia, Liu, Chunxiang & Volleth, Marianne, 2014, Taxonomic, bioacoustic and faunistic data on a collection of Tettigonioidea from Eastern Congo (Insecta: Orthoptera), pp. 343-376 in Zootaxa 3785 (3) on page 371, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.3785.3.2, http://zenodo.org/record/250508 ...
