	Abstract: Actes du colloque scientifique, international et pluridisciplinaire de l'Université d'Etat Lomonossov MGU, 1er et 2 mars 2012 ; International audience ; Although vocal expressivity is a major component of human communication, it has not really been taken into account in linguistic research. It deserves, however, further investigation in order to provide scholars with new theoretical and methodological cues for a global understanding, not restricted to bodily manifestations only, of the vocal and linguisticmechanisms involved in the expression of emotion. We show here how expressive prosodic units and their interplay with the lexico-grammar are determining factors in the linguistic encoding of emotions. We argue for the grammatical status of vocal expressivity, on the following grounds: while certain universal features may exist beyond the typological differences between languages, the prosodic encoding of emotion is the result of a learning process in children’s linguistic development, just like syntax or the lexicon, and therefore is a grammatical component. In a word: there can no longer be any doubt about the expressive dimension of grammar and we now need to understand the symbolic constraints that govern the expressive prosodic marking of emotions. ; Phénomène langagier majeur qui sous-tend la communication humaine au quotidien, l’expressivité vocale est pourtant restée en marge des préoccupations dominantes en linguistique. Aujourd’hui, il apparaît nécessaire de s’en saisir pour une compréhension globale des différents mécanismes en jeu dans la capacité de rendre compte de ressentis émotionnels et de la façon dont s’exprime la conscience émotionnelle dans le langage au quotidien par-delà ses manifestations corporelles. Nous montrons comment les éléments prosodiques expressifs et la façon dont ils interagissent avec le matériel syntaxique et lexical sont déterminants dans l’encodage langagier des émotions. Nous posons des arguments linguistiques qui militent en faveur du statut grammatical de l’expressivité vocale : s’il existe peut-être, au-delà des différences typologiques entre langues, des traits invariants, l’expression prosodique des émotions fait l’objet d’un apprentissage par l’enfant au mêmetitre que la syntaxe ou le lexique et, de ce fait, relève de la grammaire à part entière. En un mot : la dimension expressive d’une grammaire ne peut plus être mise en débat aujourd’hui et il reste à comprendre quels types de contraintes symboliques pèsent sur l’encodage prosodique des schémas expressifs émotionnels.
