Abstract:
The recording at the center of this item is a funeral song for Chief Aloker, the chief of Adodo, in Dhothim District. Chief Aloker ruled for a long time. He was good and strong. The song says that he was like “Oil of God spilled!” meaning that his death was like losing something very dear. And after his death, people stopped respecting (Adodo Village). Chief Aloker was a hard working man “jalthøl/man of rope” who builds and takes care of shrines.
