Schon allein wegen des regelhaften schulischen Fremdsprachenerwerbs stellt sie auch für Schüler(innen) ohne Migrationshintergrund eher die Norm als die Ausnahme dar. Die Debatte um Vor- und Nachteile von Mehrsprachigkeit ist nach wie kontrovers. Insbesondere wird diskutiert, ob und wenn ja inwie-fern migrationsbedingte Mehrsprachigkeit einen Mehrwert für die sprachliche Entwicklung von Schüler(inne)n aufweist. Die linguistische Vertiefungsstudie untersucht, (1) welche sprachlichen, personalen und kontextuellen Bedingungen die Aneignung von Mehrsprachigkeit positiv oder negativ beeinflussen, (2) welche Vorteile die Mehrsprachigkeit für den Fremdsprachenerwerb bieten kann, (3) welche Transferphänomene zwischen den beteiligten Sprachen auftreten und (4) welcher Stellenwert einzelnen Sprachkompetenzen in den untersuchten Sprachen beigemessen wird und welche Auswirkungen die mündliche Sprachbeherrschung, insbesondere, die Aussprache, für den ... : Multilingualism is an omnipresent phenomenon in Germany. Given the nature of foreign language teaching in primary and secondary schools, mastering various languages is also the norm rather than the exception for students without a migration background. The debate about advantages or disadvantages of multilingualism remains controversial. In particular, it is discussed whether and, if so, to what extent migration-related multilingualism enhances the linguistic development of students. The linguistic in-depth study explores questions such as (1) which linguistic, personal and con-textual conditions influence the acquisition of (further) languages positively or negatively, (2) what benefits multilingualism offers for language learning, (3) which transfer phenomena occur between the languages involved and (4) the importance that is attributed to individual language proficiencies in the respective languages and which effects oral language skills, especially pro-nunciation, have on academic achievement.
