	Abstract: International audience ; In August 1903, Julien Godest (1849-1932), who was a peasant, met François Jaffrennou, alias Taldir ab Herninn (1879-1956), then a very active member of the Breton movement (emzao), who encouraged him to put pen to paper and write his memoirs. Godest compiled a 350-page autobiographical manuscript that was rich in heterogeneous content, including narrative materials, songs and medicinal recipes. However, in order to publish this work in the journal An Oaled, Jaffrennou, its director, substantially revised the manuscript (lexicon, orthography, style) and made extensive cuts to its content. The end result was the publication in 1929 of a few dozen pages that had been ‘rectified’ by Jaffrennou. An analysis of the choices made by Jaffrennou during this process provides an insight into the neopaternalist view adopted by the Breton movement regionalists towards the Breton people during that period. ; En août 1903, le paysan Julien Godest (1849-1932) rencontre François Jaffrennou, alias Taldir ab Herninn (1879-1956), alors membre très actif du mouvement de défense de la Bretagne (emzao), qui l’incite à coucher ses mémoires sur papier. Godest compose alors un manuscrit autobiographique de 350 pages, riche d’un contenu hétéroclite fait à la fois d’éléments narratifs, de chants et de recettes médicinales. Cependant, si Jaffrennou projette l’édition de cette œuvre dans la revue An Oaled qu’il dirige, celui-ci le fait en coupant grandement dans le manuscrit, en révisant sa langue (lexique, orthographe, style), pour aboutir à la publication en 1929 de quelques dizaines de pages « redressées » par ses soins. L’analyse des choix opérés par Jaffrennou sur ce manuscrit populaire permet d’appréhender le regard néo-paternaliste porté par les régionalistes du mouvement breton de cette époque sur le peuple breton.
