The effect of repeating object and word pairings on adults novel object recognition ...
Brown, Anna. - : Open Science Framework, 2021
Abstract: This study will investigate adults’ novel object recognition after repeated presentations of an object and label pairing under different labelling conditions. Participants are presented with novel objects in an object recognition task, on a single trial they are briefly familiarised with a single object and label, which is then followed by a choice of two objects. Participants then have to decide which of the two objects, is the same as the object they have just seen. Participants will have to pick the correct object based on category or individual level features. Participants are expected to initially be better at recognising objects on category features, however this will change over the course of the experiment dependent on the label and labelling condition. During familiarisation the objects will be paired with a linguistic signal (word) or a ...
