Membre associé CRISCO. ; International audience ; This study aims at contrasting (be) like and genre as triggers of direct speech. Like appears mostly in the well-studied be like structure which has now become a true contender of say when reporting direct speech. Genre, on the other hand, appears in more diverse constructions, although the locution faire genre seems to be productive but not limited to direct quotation. In a contrastive approach, we will first describe how be like and genre function as quotatives of direct speech by observing them in examples from spoken corpora. We will then attempt to show how they can represent two opposite ways of expressing subjectivity (neutral - polemic). Finally, we will focus on the way those two quotatives mark out the frontier between the quoting and the quoted segments, and how they interact with prosody to materialize this frontier. Furthermore, we will see that this acoustic feature may represent a form of subjective comment on the quoted speech. ; Cette étude cherche à mettre en contraste (be) like en anglais et genre en français en tant que « déclencheurs » de discours direct (DD). Like s’inscrit dans une structure be like qui a fait l’objet de nombreuses études et qui devient un vrai concurrent de say dans le cadre du DD. Genre s’inscrit dans des constructions plus diverses et apparaît dans la locution faire genre qui n’est pas réservée au DD. Dans une approche contrastive et à partir d'exemples de corpus oraux, nous décrirons tout d’abord leur fonctionnement lorsqu’ils sont introducteurs de discours direct, puis nous montrerons que (be) like et genre peuvent se situer à deux extrêmes de l’expression de la subjectivité, be like devenant un introducteur de DD neutre, et genre mettant en place une dimension polémique entre les voix qui s’expriment. Enfin nous observerons comment ces marqueurs peuvent baliser la frontière entre segment citant et segment cité et comment cette frontière se matérialise également d’un point de vue prosodique par des caractéristiques qui peuvent être envisagées comme une forme de commentaire subjectif.
