Abstract:
Fidel Juárez Galván habla de cómo aliviar los calambres. Para eso se usa el camote blanquecino de una planta conocida como jengibre. Se muelen por lo menos tres camotes y se revuelve la masa con aguardiente o alcohol. Luego se pone la mezcla como emplasto sobre la parte del cuerpo acalambrada. Se puede también envolver el emplasto con una hoja entera de tabaco amarrándolo a la parte afectada. Juárez Galván recomienda que al día después de aplicarse este remedio no se lava el lugar afectado, por ejemplo los pies, con agua fría para no recaer en los calambres. Agrega que si la planta de jengibre no tiene camote entonces se pueden remojar con alcohol las propias hojas. Se aplican las hojas calientes; tienen el mismo efecto que el camote molido. Agrega al final que el cigarro tostado y reposado en alcohol por cuatro días también sirve para curar los calambres, untándose la mezcla preparada en la parte acalambrada.
