Abstract:
National audience ; Conversion is a formal operation that establishes a non-oriented, paraphrastic relationship between two elementary sentences. The standard support verb, which has active orientation - here the Portuguese verb 'dar' "give" - is replaced by a converse support verb, which has passive orientation - here the verb 'receber' "receive":'Zezé Di Camargo deu uma explicação ao público sobre o que aconteceu na véspera' ("Zezé Di Camargo gave the public an explanation about what had happened the day before")'O público recebeu uma explicação do Zezé Di Camargo sobre [.]' ("The public received an explanation from Zezé Di Camargo about [.]")This operation was initially pointed out by Gaston Gross (1982, 1989) for French. Baptista (1997) describes converse constructions with the verbs 'dar' "give" and 'levar' "take" in European Portuguese (EP). However, many of the findings in his paper have no counterpart in Brazilian Portuguese (BP), which motivated us to elaborate a EP/BP contrastive study of the predicational nouns that show conversion with the verb 'levar' "take", namely class DL (dar-levar). The lexical, morphological and syntactic levels of analysis are considered. ; A conversão é uma operação formal que estabelece uma relação não-orientada parafrástica entre duas frases elementares. O verbo-suporte standard, de orientação ativa – no caso o verbo "dar" – é substituído por outro, um verbo-suporte converso, de orientação passiva – no caso o verbo "levar" ou o verbo "receber":"Zezé Di Camargo deu uma explicação ao público sobre o que aconteceu na véspera""O público recebeu uma explicação do Zezé Di Camargo sobre [.]"Essa operação foi apontada inicialmente por Gaston Gross (1982, 1989) para o francês. Baptista (1997) descreve as construções conversas com os verbos "dar" e "levar" em português europeu. Grande parte das constatações feitas naquele artigo, no entanto, não podem ser reproduzidas para o português brasileiro, o que nos motivou a elaborar um estudo contrastivo dos nomes predicativos que fazem conversão com o verbo "levar", nomeadamente a classe DL (dar–levar). Consideram-se os níveis de análise lexical, morfológico e sintático.
