Bamberg, Univ., Diss., 2006 ; Der individuelle Sprachgebrauch verrät etwas über allgemeine kognitive, motivationale und emotionale Prozesse. Das hier vorgeschlagene Modell baut auf der Psi-Theorie (Dörner, 1999, Bauplan für eine Seele) auf. Sprechen wird darin als motivational gesteuerte Konstruktionsarbeit verstanden, die emotional moduliert wird. Zunächst werden acht Dimensionen des Sprechens beschrieben, die in Zusammenhang zu kognitiven Prozessen stehen. Beispiele sind "Konkretheit" (detailgenau vs. wenig konkret), Klarheit (eindeutig vs. unklar) oder "Komplexität" (differenziert vs. einfach). Konkretes Sprechen wird u.a. mit induktiven Denkprozessen (konkrete Wissenseinheiten als Ausgangspunkt für bottom-up Prozesse) und mit Analyseprozessen (Endprodukt der Analyse sind konkrete Schemata) in Verbindung gebracht. Motive steuern die Konstruktion der Schemata und sie steuern die Art und Weise der Konstruktion. Ein Sprecher mit hohem Bestimmtheitsbedürfnis konstruiert eher eindeutige, klare Schemata. Das Motiv nach Affiliation kann Menschen dazu bringen, die Sprechweise an den Sprachgebrauch einer positiv bewerteten Gruppe anzupassen. Emotionales Sprechen meint, dass sich die Art der Konstruktionsprozesse verändert. Ein aufgeregter Sprecher wird beispielsweise weniger komplex sprechen als sonst. Ein verringerter Auflösungsgrad verhindert hier die Konstruktion eines komplexen Schemas. Die Annahmen des Modells wurden durch die Analyse mehrerer Einzelfälle erarbeitet. Es wurden Sprechdaten (Interview) und Handlungsdaten (mit der Problemlöse-Computersimulation "3-D-Insel") erhoben. Daraus wurde ein erstes Modell zum Zusammenhang von Sprechen und Kognition/Motivation/Emotion erstellt. Diese Zusammenhänge wurden in einem Prognoseversuch überprüft: von zwei weiteren Versuchspersonen wurden Sprechdaten erhoben und ausgewertet. Aus den Sprechweisen wurden kognitive Strategien und motivationale Einstellungen der VPn abgeleitet und auf die Anforderungen der Computersimulation übertragen. Anhand des vorher aufgestellten Modells wurde also auf der Basis der Sprechweise vorhergesagt, wie sich diese VPn im Szenario der 3-D-Insel verhalten müssten. Unabhängig von dieser Prognose wurden die Verhaltensweisen der beiden Versuchspersonen eingeschätzt. Im dritten Schritt wurden Prognose und Verhaltenseinschätzung miteinander verglichen. Einerseits konnten die Verhaltensweisen der VPn mit dem Modell tendenziell vorhergesagt werden. Andrerseits wurde das Modell nach dem Prognoseversuch in einigen Punkten modifiziert. ; A person's individual way of speaking gives information about her general cognitive, motivational, and emotional processes. The model proposed in this dissertation is based on the PSI theory by Dörner. This theory understands speaking as a process in which schemata are constructed. This process is initiated and regulated by motives and it is modulated emotionally. At first eight dimensions of speaking which are related to cognitive processes are developed. Examples are "concreteness" of speech (detailed vs. little concrete), clearness of speech (unambiguous vs. obscure) or speech complexity (differentiated vs. simple). A concrete way of speaking is put together with inductive reasoning (concrete knowledge units stand at the beginning of bottom-up processes) and with analytical reasoning (concrete schemata are the final product of analysis). Motives determine both which schemata are constructed and the specific way of this construction. A speaker with a high need for certainty tends to construct rather clear and unambiguous schemata. The need for affiliation can make somebody adapt the way of speaking to the language of a favourably valued group. Emotional speaking means that the character of schema-construction varies. A nervous speaker for example will speak less complex than in other emotional states. A low resolution level hinders the construction of a complex schema. The assumptions of the model were developed on the basis of several single case-analyses. There, both speaking data (via an interview) and non-verbal behavior data (via the computer simulation "3-D-Island") were collected. With these data a first model of the relations between speaking and cognition/motivation/emotion was built. These relationships were tested in a “prognosis study”: speaking data from two more subjects were collected and analysed. On the basis of their individual ways of speaking their cognitive styles and motivational parameters were derived. In the next step these individual settings were transferred to the context of the given computer simulation. It was predicted how the subjects would behave in the scenario of the 3-D-island by looking only at the speaking data. Independent of this linguistic prognosis the action tendencies of the subjects were rated by another person. Then prognosis and behavior-rating were compared with each other. This evaluation showed on the whole positive results: The behavior of the subjects could be predicted with the proposed model quite accurately. However, the tests showed also that the model has to be modified in some minor aspects.
