Abstract:
International audience ; My thesis began an exploration of the problematic of this biennial, "making / making oneself", in a retrospective approach on craft learning experiences. I propose here a contribution to the development of tools allowing a real-time approach.1. Observing the joint transformations of activities and subjects in activity involves important methodological and epistemological challenges, both for research and for professional applications.On the one hand, it implies capturing living, non-predictable processes, whereas the institutional context may push us to observe them selectively from a predefined norm. These processes of activity/subject construction have, moreover, a certain depth and complexity which touch on the dynamics of the social links between the subject and his environment. Appearances can therefore be deceptive or reductive. A third challenge comes from the inscription of these processes in psycho-physiological phenomena that we must learn to identify, in particular those resulting from old traumas. Finally, the exclusive use of verbal language as a tool to "show" processes of activity whose nature is not verbal (mixing actions, perceptions, affects.) appears both insufficient and difficult to avoid, in view of the school socialization centered on written language.2. After having given examples illustrating these difficulties, I propose an original approach based on the work of Marcel Jousse (1886-1961) on the subject of "the anthropology of mimism".Jousse suggests that we work from an "anthropological laboratory of awareness" that requires me to recognize myself as an observer with my own singular point of view and thus open to the uniqueness of each individual. With him, I posit mimism as a foundation of human activity, whose different manifestations can be described in a clear and unified way thanks to a terminology articulated around the concept of geste, which goes beyond many binary oppositions. I illustrate how the articulation between interactional gestes and propositional gestes offers the opportunity to identify and analyze the links between the subject and an activity, as close as possible to experience. Finally, I introduce the typology of concrete, analogical, and algebraic gestes, which seems to me to be an important reference point for communicating the fruit of our observations in a relevant way.As an opening, I propose to the reader a personal experience aiming at a personal appropriation of what this article outlines. ; Ma thèse avait commencé une exploration de la problématique de cette biennale, « faire / se faire », dans une approche rétrospective sur des expériences d’apprentissage artisanal. Je propose ici une contribution à l’élaboration d’outils permettant une approche en temps réel.1. Observer les transformations conjointes des activités et des sujets en activité comporte d’importants défis méthodologiques et épistémologiques, tant pour les recherches que pour des applications professionnelles.D’une part, elle suppose de saisir des processus vivants, non-prévisibles, alors que le contexte institutionnel peut nous pousser à les observer de façon sélective à partir d’une norme pré-établie. Ces processus de construction activités/sujet ont par ailleurs une certaine profondeur et complexité qui touchent à la dynamique des liens sociaux entre le sujet et son milieu. Les apparences peuvent donc être trompeuses ou réductrices. Un troisième défi vient de l’inscription de ces processus dans des phénomènes psychophysiologiques qu’il faut apprendre à repérer, en particulier ceux découlant de traumatismes anciens. Enfin, l’utilisation exclusive du langage verbal en tant qu’outil pour « donner à voir » des processus d’activité dont la nature n’est pas verbale (mêlant actions, perceptions, affects…) apparaît à la fois insuffisante et difficile à éviter, au vu de la socialisation scolaire centrée sur le langage écrit.2. Après avoir donné des exemples illustrant ces difficultés, je propose une voie d’approche originale fondée sur les travaux de Marcel Jousse (1886-1961) au sujet de « l’anthropologie du mimisme ».Jousse nous propose de travailler à partir d’un « laboratoire de prise de conscience anthropologique » qui nécessite de me reconnaître comme observateur porteur de mon point de vue singulier et ouvert de ce fait à l’unicité de chaque individu. Avec lui, je pose le mimisme comme un fondement de l’activité humaine, dont les différentes manifestations peuvent être décrites de façon claire et unifiée grâce à une terminologie articulée autour du concept de geste, qui dépasse nombre d’oppositions binaires. J’illustre en quoi l’articulation entre les gestes interactionnels et les gestes propositionnels offre l’opportunité d’identifier et d’analyser les liens entre le sujet et une activité, au plus près du vécu. Enfin, j’introduis la typologie des gestes de forme concrète, analogique, et algébrique, qui me paraît un point de repère important pour communiquer de façon pertinente le fruit de nos observations.En guise d’ouverture, je propose au lecteur une expérience personnelle visant à une appropriation personnelle de ce qu’esquisse cet article.
