La traducción al español de la prosa nativo-americana: estudio crítico de la (re)creación transcultural de la identidad indígena estadounidense

Abstract:
[ES]Debido a la complejidad socio-artística de Estados Unidos, el mundo académico español apenas ha explorado las producciones literarias de las comunidades nativo-americanas. mucho menos desde un punto de vista traductológico. Esto supone que las traducciones disponibles en nuestro país no han sido estudiadas críticamente hasta la fecha, un hecho que esta Tesis Doctoral compensa a través de un análisis multidisciplinar y multifocal. A lo largo de la Tesis Doctoral, se ha observado la literatura nativo-americana y su traducción al español con el objetivo de dibujar el panorama existente en el mercado español sobre las representaciones identitarias a las que tiene acceso el público lector en relación a las poblaciones indígenas de Estados Unidos. Esta revisión de la identidad nativa y los productos culturales que de la misma se derivan se ha realizado teniendo en cuenta aspectos teóricos procedentes de disciplinas tan variadas como la socio-política, la antropología y la etnografía, la historia, o el arte. En todo momento se ha tenido en cuenta el marco traductológico que rodea dichas imágenes identitarias y se ha observado con detenimiento las teorías traductológicas del polisistema y el giro cultural para estudiar la recepción en España de la literatura nativo-americana. Así mismo, se ha llevado a cabo un estudio crítico de la traducciones disponibles mediante una versión adaptada del modelo de Lambert y van Gorp (1985 [2006]). De esta forma, no sólo se han analizado aspectos textuales (nombres y apelativos personales y comunitarios; elementos culturalmente específicos; aspectos lingüístico-estilísticos), sino que también se ha prestado atención a los peritextos de las obras (colecciones; títulos y portadas; informaciones bio-bibliográficas; prefacios) y al conjunto sistémico del mercado español. La exploración de estos elementos ha derivado en el establecimiento de patrones traductológicos y tendencias de (re)construcción transculturales que confirma la hipótesis de partida, a saber, que la identidad nativo-americana que encontramos en España es parcial y sesgada. Las conclusiones y el análisis en sí mismo, por tanto, comportan la incorporación de una nueva área de investigación a los Estudios de Traducción con una perspectiva amplia y diversa de proyectos de futuro tanto teóricos como prácticos. ; [EN]Due to the socio- American artistic complexity, Spanish academia has barely explored the literary productions of Native American communities. much less from a translation- view. This implies that the translations available in our country have not been critically studied to date , a fact that makes up this thesis through a multidisciplinary analysis and multifocal . Throughout the doctoral thesis , has been observed Native American literature and its translation into Spanish in order to draw the existing landscape in the Spanish market on the identity representations to which the public has access reader in relation to populations American Indians . This review of the native cultural identity and products derived thereof has been made in consideration of theoretical aspects from disciplines as varied as the socio- politics, anthropology and ethnography , history, or art. At all times, has considered the translation- identity framework surrounding these images and has closely observed the polysystem Translation Studies and the cultural turn to study the reception in Spain of Native American literature. Likewise, it has conducted a critical study of the translations available using an adapted version of the model of Lambert and van Gorp (1985 [2006]) . The exploration of these elements has led to the establishment of translational patterns and trends ( re) construction transcultural confirming the hypothesis, namely that the Native American identity found in Spain is partial and biased. The findings and analysis in itself , therefore, involve the addition of a new area of research to Translation Studies with a broad perspective and diverse projects of both theoretical and practical future.
