; In our everyday lives, we use a large number of metaphors in order to shape our surrounding reality; most of the time, we do it without even noticing. However, these metaphors are not neutral nor meaningless: they actually reveal how we conceptualize the world. George Lakoff and Mark Johnson were the first to point this out in the book "Metaphors we live by" (1980). In this paper, we will focus on mental health. In particular, we will observe subjects with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or depression diagnosis who write about their experiences on Internet blogs. From the observation of the metaphors they use, we will find out how these people conceptualize everything that concerns mental health.
