; The research presented here and entitled - “Mothers des Volkes” Project: An Exploratory Study of a Specific Ideological Sign in Art-Education - was created in the scope of the Master Program in Art and Education at Aberta University and addresses the artistic, pedagogical trajectory of immigrant women giving a meaning to a sign throughout artistic expressions. The subject matter and object of the research focus on the development, organization, exploration and execution of a process which leads to signify the sign (word) Migrationshintergrund by Arts, in an experimental learning context. The theoretical, conceptual and empirical research methodology is developed through a research-action articulated on the Pedagogical Relationship model proposed by Renald Legendre, presented by Amílcar Martins (MARTINS, 2002), which took place in four phases: the conceptual theoretical reasons; the design; the implementation; feedback and evaluation. The theoretical and conceptual framework focused on authors and concepts which contributed to the design and execution of the project due to their relevance on subjects like cultural diversity and tolerance, linguistic sign, racism and education through art. The learning goals were achieved in the harmonious confluence of the concepts of expression, creativity, pleasure and sensitivity. This Art-Education narrative was built, analysed and interpreted from resources generated in different phases of the project, notably photographs and videos, questionnaires, descriptive texts, contextualizing slides, artistic creations, interviews and logbooks. The data interpretation from the Mothers des Volkes Project reveals the contribution of education through art, associated with the Triangular Approach as a methodological paradigm, in impelling the condition of simple immigrant individuals to the condition of conscious and active immigrant Subjects. In addition, it also highlights the importance of artistic expressions in the process of building knowledge, acquiring competences and fundamental skills for personal, linguistic, aesthetic, artistic and cultural development.
