Die Kärntner slowenische Jugendsprache als sprachdidaktische Herausforderung
Abstract:
; Recent research has shown that language teaching would benefit from incorporating students' youth language. Although German and Slovenian linguists have already analysed youth language, it has not yet been investigated in the specific case of German and Slovenian bilingualism in Carinthia. Thus, this paper presents insights into the youth language of Carinthian Slovenes and its features by conducting qualitative interviews with graduates of the Slovenian gymnasium and the bilingual secondary commercial college, which are both located in Klagenfurt. Based on the insights of these interviews, conclusions for teaching Slovenian in Austrian schools are being drawn.
