Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to assist the development of global guidance through a review of evidence on the diversity and performance of health practitioner regulatory systems across various geographic, linguistic, political, and economic systems. The study will examine regulatory approaches, principles, elements, and considerations that best assist WHO Member States to design, deliver and strengthen their health practitioner regulatory systems to better achieve health workforce goals. A rapid review approach is adopted, with both qualitative and quantitative articles included. Rapid reviews are a type of systematic reviews, where components of a regular systematic review are simplified or made more efficient to produce information in a shorter span of time, but with minimal impact to quality.
