Invited Speaker Support for SBP Conference Series (SBP 2014) held in April, 2014 in Washington, DC.
Abstract: The 2014 International Conference on Social Computing, Behavioral-Cultural Modeling, and Prediction was held in Washington, D.C., from April 1 to April 4, 2014. This year, the SBP 2014 conference was co-located with the Behavior Representation in Modeling and Simulation (BRiMS) conference. Four tutorials were given on April 1 before the start of the main conference. The main conference program consisted of three keynote addresses, 34 oral paper presentations (24 SBP and 10 BRiMS), 42 posters (36 SBP and 8 BRiMS), two challenge response papers, and a panel with federal funding presentations with roundtable discussions. The goal of the SBP conference is to cultivate cross-disciplinary communication and collaboration, for the purpose of advancing substantive domain knowledge and advanced computational methodologies across the social, behavioral, and economic sciences. The conference is a merger of two successful conferences, the International Conference on Computational Cultural Dynamics (20072009), and the International Conference on Social Computing, Behavioral-Cultural Modeling, and Prediction (20082010). The conference offers an opportunity for behavioral and social science researchers to come together with computational and computer scientists and other related disciplines. It seeks to attract researchers, practitioners, program staff from federal agencies, and graduate students across a broad range of scientific disciplines, including complexity science, sociology, behavioral science, psychology, political science, cultural studies, health sciences, economics, computer science, engineering, information systems, physics, and operations research. The SBP Proceedings were once again published by Springer as part of its Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. These proceedings can be accessed online. ; International Conference on Social Computing, Behavioral-Cultural Modeling, and Prediction, SBP 2014, 01 Apr 2014, 04 Apr 2014
