Abstract: This round of Eurobarometer surveys diverged from the Standard Eurobarometer measures and queried respondents on the following topics: (1) cultural values, (2) poverty and social exclusion, (3) developmental aid, and (4) residential mobility. For the first major focus, cultural values, the survey asked respondents questions pertaining to the meaning and importance of culture, their interest and participation in cultural activities, and their national identity. The respondents were also asked to identify cultural values for Europe as well as other countries, about the importance and promotion of cultural exchange, and whether they would learn a foreign language. For the next major focus, respondents were asked to evaluate their personal financial situation and that of people dwelling in the vicinity of their homes, and to ascertain why people fall into poverty or are excluded from society.
