In de herfst van 1983 is de helft van alle leerlingen van kleuter- en lagere scholen in de vroegere gemeenten Oost- en Westdongeradeel aan de hand van speelgoed gevraagd naar hun uitspraak van meervoud en verkleiningswoord bij de woorden 'tean, foet, stien, beam, stoel, doar, hier en noas' (resp. teen, voet, steen, boom, stoel, deur, haar en neus.). Per kind had het onderwijzend personeel van tevoren schriftelijk informatie gegeven over de voertaal van het kind thuis, over het beroep van de ouders en over het Fries als vak en voertaal in hun klassen. ...
