Die sprachliche Situation im Schulwesen der Stadt Zagreb

Abstract: Gegenstand dieser Masterarbeit ist die sprachliche Situation im Schulwesen von Zagreb im Zeitraum von 1806 bis 1918. Es werden Erklärungsversuche, die durch die Modernisierungsprozesse in den Bereichen Wirtschaft, Politik, Gesellschaft und Kultur mitbestimmt wurden und Einfluss auf die neue Positionierung und Funktion des Bildungswesens haben, geliefert. Anfänglich wurden Reformen durch den Einfluss von „außen“ initiiert, doch im Laufe der Zeit wurde eine Initiative der heimischen Bevölkerung bemerkbar. Ein beschleunigter Entwicklungsprozess folgte nach der Professionalisierung des Lehrerberufs und dem Aufschwung der Mittelschicht. Im Verlauf werden Reformen des Bildungswesens genannt und Schulstatistiken und Lernendenstatistiken hinsichtlich Muttersprache und Unterrichtssprache anhand des Zagreber klassischen Gymnasiums geliefert. ; Object of this master thesis is the linguistic sitation in the school system of Zagreb in the period of 1806 and 1918. Explications, caused through the modernization process in the areas of economy, politics, society and culture, which have an impact on the new value and function of the school system, are given. In the beginning the changes were cause through “outside”, with time passing the Croatian intellectual elite mobilized. The accelerated development followed after the professionalization of teacher’s occupation and the upswing of middle class. This work shows the important school reforms of the education system. Moreover, there is given an overview of school statistics and learner statics on the basis of the “Classic high school in Zagreb” referred to mother tongue and language of instruction.
