Devido a amplitude dessas questões, esse estudo teve como temática a leitura e o letramento de estudantes surdos, justificado pela necessidade de ter um panorama amplo da produção acadêmica a respeito da formação do leitor surdo, a fim de verificar o avanço das pesquisas e reconhecer as lacunas presentes nesta área do conhecimento. Caracterizada como pesquisa do tipo estado da arte, este estudo teve como objetivo geral inventariar e sistematizar a produção sobre a formação do leitor surdo no Brasil entre os anos de 2005 a 2015. A definição do período, 2005 a 2015, como marco temporal, derivou da regulamentação do Decreto Nº 5.626, de 22 de dezembro de 2005. Esse estudo bibliográfico documental utiliza o método da abordagem descritiva com análise quantitativa e qualitativa. O corpus de análise foi composto de pesquisas de doutorado, de mestrado e artigos científicos. Na busca de dados, foram utilizados os seguintes descritores: leitura and surd* e letramento and surd*. Para a sistematização e análise dos dados coletados, foram estabelecidas as seguintes categorias de análise: Quantidade de Produções por Base de Dados, Levantamento Detalhado por Base de Dados, Quantidade por Tipo de Produção, Distribuição de Teses, Dissertações e Artigos por Ano de Publicação, Produções Acadêmicas por Universidades, Levantamento de Teses e Dissertações por Região, Distribuição por Área do Conhecimento, Distribuição das Publicações nas Áreas da Educação e Saúde, Tipologia das Pesquisas, Tipo de Coleta de Dados das Pesquisas, Referenciais Teóricos nas Áreas da Surdez e Leitura/Letramento, Concepção de Surdez, Concepção de Leitura e Lacunas nos Resumos. Os resultados da pesquisa indicam que estudos com a temática leitura e letramento do surdo tem se consolidado como área de interesse em diferentes universidades localizadas em distintas regiões do país, sobremaneira, na região Sudeste. A análise da produção acadêmica numa perspectiva diacrônica demonstra o crescimento no número de publicações. No tangente as áreas de origem das produções, sua distribuição se localiza em diferentes áreas do conhecimento, com destaque para a área da Educação. Sobre os referenciais teóricos, Bakhtin e Vygotsky foram os mais citados, evidenciando maior interesse em compreender a leitura numa perspectiva sóciohistórico-cultural e dialógica. Quanto à educação bilíngue para surdos verificou que as práticas de ensino ainda não estão consolidadas. O levantamento realizado evidenciou que os estudos apresentam convergências e se imbricam. É possível afirmar que a maior parte das práticas de leitura para surdos permanece sob o enfoque do estruturalismo. Os gêneros discursivos multimodais e o letramento dos surdos na perspectiva dos multiletramentos apresentaram benefícios para a formação do leitor surdo, entretanto há escassez de trabalhos sobre o tema. Conclui-se que a formação do leitor surdo em uma perspectiva que reconheça suas peculiaridades ainda é um tema em desenvolvimento e que alguns resultados aqui evidenciados necessitam ser objeto de novos estudos. ; In current education of the deaf in Brazil, it is observed inquiries and concerns regarding the acquisition of L2, mainly accounting to reading and writing. Due to the extent of this questioning and the need to have a broad overview of the academic production on the formation of the deaf reader, this study had as theme the reading and literacy of deaf students as to check research progress and recognize gaps in this area of knowledge. Characterized as a state-of-the-art research, this study had as general objective to inventory and systematize the production on the formation of the deaf reader in Brazil between the years 2005 and 2015. The definition of the period, 2005 to 2015, as a time frame, derived from the regulation of Decree No. 5,626, dated December 22, 2005. This bibliographic documentary study used the descriptive approach with quantitative and qualitative analysis, and the corpus of such was composed of doctoral, master's and scientific research. In the data search, the following descriptors were used: \"reading and deaf(ness)\" and \"literacy and deaf(ness)\". As for the systematization and analysis of the collected data, the following categories of analysis were established: Quantity of Productions by Database, Detailed Survey by Database, Quantity by Type of Production, Distribution of Theses, Dissertations and Articles by Year of Publication, Academic Productions by Universities, Thesis and Dissertations Survey by Region, Distribution by Area of Knowledge, Distribution of Publications in Education and Health Areas, Types of Research, Type of Survey Data Collection, Benchmarks Theorists in Areas of Deafness and Reading/Literacy, Conception of Deafness, Conception of Reading and Gaps in Abstracts. The results of the research indicated that studies on reading and literacy of the deaf have consolidated as an area of interest in different universities located in different regions of the country, especially in the Southeast. The analysis of academic production in a diachronic perspective demonstrates the growth in the number of publications. As to the source of production areas, its distribution is located in different areas of knowledge, mainly the area of Education. Regarding theoretical references, Bakhtin and Vygotsky were the most cited, evidencing a greater interest in understanding reading from a socio-historical-cultural and dialogical perspective. Concerning bilingual education for the deaf, it was found that teaching practices have not yet been consolidated. The obtained survey evidenced that the studies present convergences and interlock. It is possible to say that most reading practices for the deaf remain under the focus of structuralism. The multimodal discursive genres and the literacy of deaf people in the perspective of multiliteracies presented benefits for the formation of the deaf reader, however there is a shortage of works on the subject. It is concluded that the formation of the deaf reader in a perspective that recognizes their peculiarities is still a developing topic and that some results evidenced here need to be subject of further studies.
