Die Lipovaner - Russische Altgläubige als religiöse und sprachlich-kulturelle Minderheit im rumänischen und ukrainischen Donaudelta
|

Abstract:
Die Lipovaner sind eine Untergruppe der Russischen Altgläubigen und leben im Donaudelta sowie anderen Teilen von Südosteuropa. Seit der russischen Kirchenspaltung im Jahre 1653 waren die Altgläubigen jahrhundertelang auf der Flucht vor religiöser Verfolgung durch die russische Staatskirche und haben dabei gelernt, sich immer wieder schnell an neue Rahmenbedingungen anzupassen. Im Zusammenhang mit den Lipovanerdörfern im Donaudelta ist zu sagen, dass diese bis zum Zweiten Weltkrieg weitgehend isolierte russische Sprachinseln darstellten. Nach dem Krieg und der Aufspaltung des Donaudeltas in einen rumänischen und ukrainischen Teil hat sich in Rumänien eine russisch-rumänische Zweisprachigkeit, in der Ukraine hingegen eine Diglossie aus der Sprache der Lipovaner und der russischen Standardsprache herausgebildet. Der Großteil der Altgläubigen im Donaudelta bekennt sich zum priesterlichen Altgläubigentum und gehört der Kirche von Belaja Krinica an. Kleinere Gemeinden, vor allem in Tulcea und Mahmudia, gehören zur russisch-altorthodoxen Kirche oder zum priesterlosen Altgläubigentum. Nach Jahrhunderten der Verfolgung erlangten die Altgläubigen in Russland erst 1905, d. h. mit dem Toleranzedikt von Nikolaus I., die vollkommene Religionsfreiheit. Neben der Sprache und Religion bestimmen auch künstlerische Tätigkeiten wie die Ikonenmalerei, Handwerksarten wie die Holzschnitzerei oder der Bootsbau sowie gesellschaftliche Tätigkeiten wie das Singen, Tanzen oder Vortragen von Gedichten die Identität der Lipovaner. Die meisten Lipovaner halten sich sowohl in Rumänien als auch in der Ukraine von der politischen Bühne fern und sind als ehemals verfolgte Minderheit auch vorsichtig damit, ihre politischen Ansichten in einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit kundzutun. Dennoch sind die rumänischen Lipovaner im rumänischen Parlament durch einen eigenen Deputaten vertreten und nehmen im ukrainischen Donaudelta oft als Bürgermeister, lokale Abgeordnete oder Beamte in höheren Positionen an der ukrainischen Regionalpolitik teil. ; In the first chapter, we learn who the Lipovans are and how they are different from other ethnic groups. Following the schism in the Russian church in 1653, this exceptional ethnic group was forced to flee from religious persecution by the Russian state church for centuries and, in the process, repeatedly learn how to adapt quickly to new environments. In connection with the Lipovan villages in the Danube Delta, it was noted that these had remained, to a large degree, isolated linguistic enclaves until the Second World War. After the war and the separation of the Danube Delta into a Romanian and Ukrainian section, a form of Russian-Romanian bilingualism developed in Romania, whereas a diglossia developed out of Lipovan and the Russian standard language in the Ukraine. The majority of the Old Believers in the Danube Delta profess their faith in the priestly form of their religion and belong to the Church of Bila Krynytsia. The persecution of the Old Believers by the state church and Russian government was alleviated under Peter I and ceased completely for a period during the plague epidemic in Moscow in 1771. After another severe wave of persecution under Nikolaus I in the 19th century, the Old Believers were finally granted complete religious freedom in the tolerance decree proclaimed by Nikolaus II. In addition to language and religion, artistic pursuits such as icon painting, and craftsmanship in the form of wood carving and boat building, as well as social activities like singing, dancing, and storytelling, also determine the identity of the Lipovans. The Romanian Lipovans are represented by their own representative in the country’s parliament, and they are often active as mayors, local representatives, and high-level officials in regional politics in the Ukraine.
