終助詞「っと」「っけ」の機能 : 「っと」「っけ」で表現される私的領域内情報と目に見えない聞き手

Abstract:
本研究では,終助詞「っけ」と「っと」の意味機能を論じるのと同時に,双方の共通点を論じる.この2つは,聞き手が存在する対話として使うことも可能であるが,聞き手が存在しない独話としても使うこともできる.この現象を説明する概念として,聞き手として,invisible listener という目に見えない聞き手を想定した.聞き手を不可視化することによって,聞き手は,話者の発話に何らかのアクションを起こす義務から解放され,そのことによって,おたがいのフェイスを維持することができるのである.さらに,話者の私的領域内に属する情報の中でも「ッケ」は自己(=話者)の体験にある情報であることを示し,「ット」は自己(=話者)の個人的情報であることを示すことを論じた. ; In this study, I discuss the meaning and functions of the postpositional words functioning as sentence-final particles in Japanese: -tto and -kke. At the same time, I discuss the properties shared by -tto and -kke. These can be used as part of thedialogue (with listener), but also can be used in the monologue (without listener). I introduce the new concept "the invisible listener" in this study to solve the related phenomena. The invisible listener is relieved of the obligation to respond to the speaker. Thus, the speaker and the listener can maintain each other's "face". This study claims that -kke indicates the speaker's experience and -tto the speaker's personal information.
