Abstract:
Researchers in several disciplines have argued that a social science interview should be seen as a product of situated interaction, rather than as the elicitation of the interviewee's pre-existing cognitive state. We propose an approach for analysis of this interaction based on studies of stance-taking and of responses to questions. Studies of stance-taking can help us understand the process of elicitation; in these studies, expressing one's evaluation of an object is seen as an inherently dialogical act that involves positioning oneself, defining a shared object, and aligning or not with previous stance-taking. Studies of responses to questions can help us apply these general analyses of stance-taking in dialogue to the specific genre of the research interview. In this article, we analyse existing transcripts from the Qualidata Archive and focus on the devices interviewees have for showing that they are taking up the question, and for aligning or disaligning with the stance projected in it, and the devices used by interviewers in follow-up questions to recalibrate the object of stance-taking. Since we focus on the lexical and syntactic form of elicitations, responses, and follow-ups, the approach can be applied, with some important caveats, to typical social science research transcripts, not just to specially retranscribed interviews.URN: http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs1301123 ; Investigadores en diferentes disciplinas han argumentado que una entrevista en la ciencia social debe ser vista como un producto de interacción situada, más que como una extracción de un pre-existente estado cognitivo del entrevistado. Proponemos un enfoque para el análisis de esta interacción basada en estudios de toma de opinión y de respuestas a preguntas. Los estudios de toma de opinión pueden ayudar a entender de proceso de extracción; en estos estudios, expresar la evaluación de un objeto es visto como un acto inherentemente dialógico que involucra posicionarse uno mismo, al defender un objeto compartido, y alinearse o no con previas tomas de opinión. Los estudios de respuestas a preguntas pueden ayudar a aplicar estos análisis generales de toma de opinión en diálogo con el género específico de la investigación de entrevista. En este artículo, analizamos transcripciones existentes del Archivo Datoscuali y se enfoca sobre los artefactos que los entrevistados tienen para mostrar que están hablando de las preguntas y para alinear o desalinear respecto a la postura que ellas proyectan, y los artefactos usados por los entrevistadores en las preguntas siguientes para recalibrar el objeto de la toma de opinión. Ya que nos enfocamos en las formas lexical y sintáctica de las extracciones, en las respuestas y actualizaciones, el enfoque puede aplicarse, con algunas importantes advertencias, a una típica transcripción de investigación en ciencia social y no solo especialmente a entrevistas re-transcritas.URN: http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs1301123 ; Forschende unterschiedlichster disziplinärer Herkunft erachten sozialwissenschaftliche Interviews eher als Ergebnis einer situierten Interaktion denn als Hervorrufung eines vorgängigen kognitiven Bestandes aufseiten des/der Interviewten. Wir schlagen für die Untersuchung dieser Interaktion einen Ansatz vor, der auf Studien zu Positionsübernahme und Antwortverhalten in Interviews zurückgreift. Studien zur Positionsübernahme können helfen, den Prozess der Hervorrufung von Interviewstatements zu verstehen; in diesen Studien wird der Ausdruck je individueller Bewertung als ein dialogischer Akt gefasst, zu dem gehört, sich selbst zu positionieren, einen gemeinsamen Gegenstand zu definieren und mit vorigen Positionieren (nicht) abzugleichen. Untersuchungen zum Antwortverhalten erlauben, allgemeinere Analysen zur dialogischen Positionierung mit dem spezifischen Genre "Interview" in Beziehung zu setzen. In diesem Beitrag greifen wir zur Analyse auf Interviewtranskripte aus dem Qualidata-Archiv zurück und beschäftigen uns zum einen mit den Mitteln, die Interviewte nutzen, um zu zeigen, dass sie eine Frage aufgreifen und auf die ihr innewohnende Positionierung Bezug nehmen oder eben nicht, zum anderen mit den Mitteln, die Interviewende für Folgefragen verwenden, um den Gegenstand der Positionierung zu rekalibrieren. Da wir den Fokus auf die lexikalische und syntaktische Ebene von Hervorbringungen, Antworten und Folgefragen richten, kann dieser Ansatz, allerdings mit einigen wesentlichen Einschränkungen, auch zur Analyse von anderen sozialwissenschaftlichen Transkripten genutzt werden.URN: http://nbn-resolving.de/urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs1301123
