Abstract:
Departament responsable de la tesi: Departament de Psicologia Bàsica, Evolutiva i de l'Educació ; En aquesta tesi s'estudia el nivell d'adquisició del llenguatge i de la teoria de la ment (TM) en l'alumnat de primària amb implants coclears (IC). L'objectiu principal és conèixer el seu nivell de llenguatge oral, en cadascuna de les dimensions lingüístiques, el seu nivell de llenguatge escrit i el seu nivell de desenvolupament de la TM i veure com es relacionen entre ells, a més de comprovar quins són els factors que poden influir en els resultats. S'han administrat diverses proves a 30 participants amb sordesa neuro-sensorial profunda de 6 a 12 anys d'edat i que porten IC. Els resultats mostren que els factors influents sobre el desenvolupament del llenguatge oral són l'edat en què s'activa l'IC, la qualitat auditiva, l'edat cronològica, el nivell cultural de la família i la llengua familiar. La dimensió lingüística que es veu més beneficiada per l'IC és la semàntica, seguida de la pragmàtica, mentre que morfologia i sintaxi se situen per sota del nivell esperat per l'edat cronològica. Hi ha correlació entre el desenvolupament del llenguatge oral i el nivell d'assoliment de la TM, tal com ja s'havia descrit en estudis anteriors, a més l'estudi aporta que la relació es dóna amb semàntica, morfologia i pragmàtica, però no amb sintaxi. En la mostra estudiada s'han trobat tres perfils amb puntuacions en llenguatge oral i en TM molt diferenciats. En tots els casos els resultats són més baixos en sintaxi. Els factors que expliquen aquestes diferències són la qualitat auditiva, l'edat d'activació de l'IC, el tipus de pròtesi (unilateral o bilateral), el nivell sociocultural, la llengua de la família i la posició dins la fratria. Finalment, des del punt de vista educatiu l'estudi aporta implicacions d'intervenció específica en determinades dimensions lingüístiques, especialment en la sintaxi, per tal de potenciar una millora en l'adquisició del llenguatge i de la TM. ; This thesis makes a study of the level of Language acquisition and Theory of Mind (ToM) in primary students with cochlear implants (CI). The main objective is to know their level in oral Language, within each of the linguistic dimensions, their level in written language and their level of development regarding ToM, as well as to establish the interrelationship between these and to pinpoint which factors can influence the results. A variety of tests have been carried out with 30 participants, all of these with profound neuro-sensorial deafness, between the ages of 6 and 12, all with CI. The results show that the factors which influence oral language development are; the age at which the IC was activated, auditory quality, chronological age, cultural level of the family and familiar language. The Linguistic dimension which most benefits from IC, is semantics, followed by pragmatics, whereas morphology and syntax are below the level one would expect in relationship to the chronological age. There is a correlation between the development of oral language and the level of acquisition of ToM, as has been described in previous studies, this study adds that the relationship is present with semantics, morphology and pragmatics, but not syntax. In the study group, there are three profiles with clearly different scores in oral language and ToM. In all cases, the results are lower in syntax. The factors which explain these differences, are auditory quality, the age at which CI was activated, the type of prosthesis (unilateral or bilateral), the socio-cultural level, the family language and the position within siblingship. Finally, from an educational point of view, the study contributes implications for specific intervention in specific linguistic dimensions, especially syntax in order to promote improvement in the acquisition of language and ToM.
