Abstract:
CHAPTER 5 CONCLUSION: The representation of all three levels of the grammar: 5.1 Relationships between supra- and infra-segmental structure 5.2 Relationships between phonological and morphological structure 5.2.1 Relationships between morphological and suprasegmental structure 5.2.2 Relationships between morphological, suprasegmental and infrasegmental structure 5.2.3 Relationships between morphologial and infrasegmental structure ; Chapter 5 has considered several instances where relationships can be attested between each of the three distinct levels of grammatical structure (i.e. these that are relevant to an analysis of the data in the Cp. MS). Apparently these relationships operate between supra- and infra-segmental structure (§5.1^, morphological and suprasegmenta1 structure (§5.2.1), morphological and infrasegmental structure (§5.2.3) and frequently between all three of these levels (§5.2.2). ; In view of the extent of this 'interrelationship', it is desirable to represent all three levels of grammatical structure on a single diagram. The fact that it is possible to do so within the dependency framework further illustrates the advantages that this system of notation has over many of the more traditional models.
